Clicking Your life Away

One of the most unworthy ways to lose your time

Once upon a time, my husband was unemployed, and we were struggling a bit to pay off our bills. So with acomputer on hand, hubby tried to put it to work by looking for one of those "work at home jobs". Now, having been said that one must be very wary of websites promising millions over night, my hubby decided to start off humbly by trying one of those pay per click websites.
They were free to join, so there was really nothing to lose. After having searched a while my hubby found one that offered a decent 3 cent per click. While we realized that we would not become rich, we calculated that if he clicked every second in an hour he would make $1.80 an hour. If he did this for 8 hours a day he could make a good average of $14.00 a day. If he did that for 30 days then he could make a good $420 a month. Not too bad for somebody sitting on a couch all day!
So there he started, at first he was very excited about his new job. He clicked happily for an hour as seconds ticked by. He soon though came to realize that he was unable to click straight every second as he had determined. The page first of all took a while to load, not to calculate bath room breaks and the need to drink, eat and answer the phone. But he kept going....
He thought he could overcome those losses by extending the clicking time from 8 hours to perhaps 10. So he clicked while eating, while watching tv, while listening to music. He basically was clicking his life away for money. Every day as I came home from work I found him there clicking. I hardly was able to talk to him as it distracted him from the "clicking"...
However, every day as I returned home I found an increasingly drained man, tired of clicking, a bit grumpy and with circles around his eyes from lack of sleeping. I told him to take a break for a bit, but he told me that day he was reaching a major goal: payout day. Payout was set to be released once one reached 50 dollars. It had taken him approximately a whole week of non stop clicking for hours.
The next day I found a happy man. He had clicked his way to 50 dollars and his payment was pending. His payment was expected to be released via paypal by the next morning. Armed with new enthusiasm, he resumed his clicking in hopes to reach a second payout the following week. As I kissed him goodbye, he told me how enthusiast he was of working at home.
But the following day I was surprised to come home and not hear the familiar clicking I was so used to hearing. My hubby was in the dining room sipping on a tea with a big frown on his face. "I think our dream of clicking for money has just gone down the drain" he said. He later explained to me that the money was not released as promised and that the owner of the website had a fake e-mail as it was returned undeliverable. He basically was the victim of a scam.
As upset as we were, we laughed of how foolish we were to think that we could make money by just clicking. Life is precious, don't click your life away for money. Instead look for a reputable online job and do not waste your minutes for pennies. It is certainly not worth it.
